I purchased lifelock protection almost ten years ago in the hopes that I would be as insulated from identity theft as possible and if compromised would have someone working to not only alert me, but to take immediate action to combat the identity theft to restore my credit information. For years the only input received from lifelock were public notices of sex offenders living in the area. I still continued to receive unsolicited credit offers and was not notified of new accounts opened in my name as expected. This year, I was the victim of identity theft and had my tax return rejected by the IRS as a result. I immediately contacted lielock and was shocked to see how unconcerned they were with the only response being a canned sales pitch from the person on the phone. I pressed them for action and was promised a follow up but nothing has been done and the only additional communication to date was a request to complete a survey of my recent interaction with them. The bottom line is that lifelock is a scam and does nothing in return for the money they take from you. Two credit cards were compromised within a month and LifeLock has yet to notify me. I live on the east coast and charges were being racked up on the other side of the country. One credit card company notified me. The other card company with unauthorized charges were discovered after reviewing my monthly statement. Was that not the purpose of a LifeLock membership?
