Before getting Lifelock, I had the standard 3 credit reports as "protection." I was the victim of identity theft. The crime did not show up on any of the credit reports because the bank that issued the false credit card did not report it. The local police were of no help. I was given a list of the credit reports available, which were the same three I already subscribed to. To clear my name I needed a police report to submit to the firm that was billing me for three iPhones. Finally I got a young police woman who made a report. I wanted never to go through that again, so I quickly signed up with LifeLock. It is remarkable how many people are laissez-faire about the matter of ID theft. Knowing that LifeLock is monitoring the use of my personal information helps to lessen the stress of this cyberspace age.
