I keep a pretty low profile online and never felt I was a high risk for identity theft because I live in a small town and am pretty conservative with what I do online. Filling out all the information for Lifelock was not easy, but thought I would rather have the people protecting my identity have the same information that would be thieves might have. So far I am impressed and feel like I did a very proactive thing.

Recently had my identity stolen (unknown how they go this info - I never lost my wallet) and a thief tried to make huge purchase at Best Buy.
Signed up for Lifelock right after this incident. Apparently someone has a fake ID and my SS#. Lifelock has been right on it, sending me reports/alerts and walking me through the steps to shut this thief down. Alerted me to a new account opened in my name by this same thief. With Lifelock's help I closed account. Reps have been polite and helpful. Could I do all this by myself? Probably. But for about a dollar a day for the whole year, I think the service and back up is worth it. Recommend.

When your identity has been compromised you feel so vulnerable. Lifelock notified me of possible fraud with someone trying to open a credit account using my identity. When I responded it was absolutely NOT me ,Lifelock contacted the company and myself, resolving . my issue within hours. I will probably never completely relax when it comes to my ID.
