I have been using LifeLock for a few years now. Everytime I hear of Credit Card breaches or personal information (almost every day now) I give thanks to the fact that I decided to spend the money and go with a LifeLock package. We had been a victim of one of the well publicized data breeches and decided to be proactive on our own, so we began our relationship with LifeLock. Within a week of completing our personal profile with our details, our financial, and even insurance infirmation, LifeLock found a hit on one of the foreign black market websites with my phone number and email address. It was startling to say the least. We are extremely careful in what websites we visit, to not open emails from strangers or phishing websites, but that doesn't mean our well meaning friends or business colleges are quite as careful. We were SO thankful LifeLock had our backs and we knew precisely how to react and remedy the situation. I immediately changed my phone number and email, and quickly updated information that relied on it. We also decided to then update and better vary our passwords while we were making changes since there was a good change the black market was probably not just selling the 2 things. We even changed our mailing address. A lot of changes, but we decided it was better to make the changes under OUR CONTROL thanks to LIFELOCK than to have lost who knows how much money without LifeLock, and not know how, or from where, or how long it would go on? I couldn't have reacted quicken because we have several phone numbers and emails - that's a lot of combinations to try to cover. Having LifeLock made all the difference. We knew how to react, how to be quick and smart and confident about our decisions, even though it scared us, at the conclusion, we weren't scared for very long at all because LifeLock gave us the knowledge we otherwise would not have had. The old cliche' "An ounce of prevention..." everybody quotes, laughs, and then most don't heed. We aren't the gambling type, which is why we sought out LifeLock. The question is if others have the GUTS to get LifeLock before they need it. We are used to having insurance for everything else - yes??
