When I had originally signed up for a LifeLock account, I was doing so for fear of the remote possibility of identity theft. Recently I received an alert for what I thought was an unauthorized attempt to open a new credit card in my name. LifeLock notified me immediately and provided several possibilities for the alert. When I chose to proceed with the investigation, LifeLock handled everything - from the research behind the alert to contacting the vendors to get to the root of the issue. Having gone through the process, I have a new-found respect for the service provided by LifeLock. It was fast, thorough, and I had to spend almost none of my own time to resolve the issue.
