My ATM card was captured and a fraud charge was made on it. My BANK, not LifeLock found it and shut down my card. I emailed LifeLock, but got no answer as to why they did not catch this.

I was a victim of Identity theft back in 2010. I had a roommate who broke into my safe while I was at work, and got hold of my personal info. From there she proceeded to make 8 different credit cards in my name, having signed three of them with my name. She has since left and has a underground network of people that keeps her one step in front of the law. It's taken 5 years to clear up what she did in 15 minutes, and my credit is probably ruined forever. Watch who you take in as a roommate, I have lived on my own since, and have relatively few problems.

About a month ago I was informed by LifeLock that someone had tried to open a new account using my information. After telling the rep that is wasn't me and answering many questions I was told that I would be hearing from a person on the investigating team within a week. I'm still waiting. I appreciated that fact that it was caught but would really have appreciated hearing any follow up information for my peace of mind.

After three years I have had no problems. An occasional message will come from LL to tell me all is well which is nice. Hearing nothing else I am feeling secure that O have not and am not being hacked.
With all the publicity being given to internet security and danger by the media one would think that a LifeLock type service would be mandatory and maybe so. However, there are many media-hyped products and services that I buy for "protection" that I call "elephant repellent." You use them an definitely don't see any elephants on your lawn. If the price remains right and the sense of security continues I will use and recommend LifeLock.
